Glass Cabinets and Shared Folders – Is there a better way to store and distrbute your policies and procedures?
I was recently speaking to someone who was telling me about their glass cabinet.
Not the cabinet that holds all their awards for how successful they have been over the years.
Instead, this cabinet holds the instruction manuals for their business, from processes to safety, all neatly organised in folders 🗄️
Want to know how to replace a component in a piece of equipment, it’s in the cabinet.
Need to know the onboarding process for a new staff member, check the cabinet.
Whenever a process was changed, that document was re-printed, the old document removed from the folder and the new one added.
Team members could then refer to the new document to understand the changes that have been made, unless you worked remotely, or didn’t have the time to go to the cabinet.
Some companies don’t have the physical cabinet, but a folder on a shared drive, where people should go to review these documents.
They definitely shouldn’t copy them to their PC, so they don’t get updated when the central stored ones are changed.
Processes and operating procedures are vital to the compliant and smooth running of a company.
Ensuring that this information is distributed to staff should be an important step, if it wasn’t then why would you do it?
Recording that staff members have seen changes to policies and procedures can be critical.
Erango has the ability to store and track changes and updates to your policies and procedures, and also to track that staff members have seen those changes to ensure that they are up to date.
If this sounds familiar to you and you want to discuss how Erango can help you push our policy and procedure changes in a quick and easy way, then please get in touch!
